Georgia-Pacific's Chemical Division is dedicated to the philosophy of Total
Quality Management (TQM). We believe that quality begins with the support and
leadership of management and flows throughout the organization.

As part of our TQM commitment, we have established definite priorities:

 |
 |
Variation reduction in the following processes -
| 1.) |
Weighing and Charging |
| 2.) |
Analytical Methods |
| 3.) |
Product Manufacturing Instructions
(PMI's) |
| 4.) |
Raw Materials |
| 5.) |
Tank Farm |
|
 |
As TQM has evolved, we’ve expanded into Operations Excellence
(OpEx), applying TQM principles across the entire business, including
technology, procurement, employee health & safety and commercial compliance,
capital project execution, and new venture analysis. In line with our expanded
footprint with OpEx, we have also built on our initial quality metrics of
Process Performance Indicator (PPI), Cost of Quality (COQ), and Product Quality
Index (PQI) to include additional operational metrics tabulated in a scorecard
format. Value-added sales will continue to be utilized to better understand our
customers’ values and needs, and our R&D group will continue to focus on
developing innovative products to meet those needs.

It is GPs policy to continuously
and aggressively search for, implement, and maintain quality practices and
systems. |
