ENRICHMENT

Improving the quality of life in the communities where our employees live and where we operate is of vital importance to Georgia-Pacific. One significant way we do this is by funding those initiatives that will enrich our communities in long-term, measurable ways. The foundation has consistently nurtured and supported results-driven programs that primarily deal with community safety and affordable housing.

Habitat for Humanity International

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity has built more than 225,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1 million people in more than 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter. Partner families invest their down payments, monthly mortgage payments, and hundreds of hours of their own labor into building not only their own home, but also the homes of others.

Through donations of money and building materials, the foundation has helped Habitat for Humanity foster self-reliance and economic stability in many communities.

For more than two decades, Georgia-Pacific employees have been instrumental in helping families attain the dream of homeownership. Georgia-Pacific has provided more than 41,000 volunteer hours and contributed more than $1 million to Habitat for Humanity in Atlanta. Rebuilding Together

Rebuilding Together

Rebuilding Together is a community-based organization dedicated to repairing homes of elderly, disabled or low-income homeowners. Georgia-Pacific employees, retirees and their families work together to help renovate homes for people in need. By donating building materials, funds and volunteer hours to this organization, the Foundation has helped improve the quality of life in tangible, long-term ways for many senior homeowners across the country.

Georgia-Pacific Bucket Brigade

A volunteer fire department serving the community where Georgia-Pacific's Camas, WA employees work and live receives a Bucket Brigade grant.

The Georgia-Pacific Bucket Brigade is the Foundation's nationally recognized fire education and firefighter equipment program that strives to enrich our communities by keeping them safer. Through the GP Bucket Brigade, the foundation provides firefighters and rescuers with vital "turn-out gear" including helmets, boots, gloves, fireproof coats and pants. We also partner with local school districts to help teachers train students on fire safety. Click here to visit the GP Bucket Brigade site.
