FlowKraft a high-porosity multiwall paper, is Georgia-Pacific’s Krafted
Solution for pasted valve converting and high-speed filling performance.
The porous structure of the paper plays an important role in the
effectiveness of multiwall converting operations, including the ability to
protect packaged products and efficient filtering of air through the bag.
With consistent air resistance performance of less than 15 seconds per
100cc, FlowKraft allows an enhanced release of air through the bag during
the high-speed filling process.
FlowKraft offers an opportunity to reduce or eliminate perforations that
slow the tubing process and reduce strength in pasted valve paper plies.
Reducing perforations not only increases bag strength but saves set-up time.
During trials with a major bag producer, perforations on the two inner plies
of a multiwall application were eliminated completely with FlowKraft
substituted for the perforated plies. The common static air test on the
new configuration provided the same results as the composite bag with
perforated plies. FlowKraft also reduced set-up time. Perforated rolls can
require as much as two hours of set-up per roll. In fact, set-up accounts
for as much as 90 percent of tuber downtime. In this test, throughput
increased by 25 bags per minute in the tubing process, making the added
value of FlowKraft clear.
